The elegant bathroom featured here was designed for Lucy and Rob Clague at their four-bedroomed end-of-terrace house, which was built in Ecclesall during the Edwardian era (1901-1910).
Says Lucy: “The existing bathroom did not make the best use of space, and there was a separate shower room. We decided to have the two rooms knocked together.
“I had a very clear idea of the style that I wanted, and spent a lot of time researching on websites such as Pinterest.
“Grand Interior Designs brought my ideas to life with their building and design expertise. Knocking-out the walls and changing the layout was a big job, but they confidently looked after everything.”
What Grand Interior Designs Did
The wall dividing the bathroom and shower area was removed, and replaced with a large wet room and a push-to-open handleless larder storage unit to the side of it, flush to the wall.
Space was made for storage cabinets on the landing to store a vacuum cleaner. An antique style roll-top bath and loo from the Burlington range were installed.
Lucy wanted to incorporate a bespoke reclaimed wood cabinet made by a local tradesman into the design, so Grand Interior Designs fitted it with a ‘two-tap’ trough basin, above which a circular mirror was positioned.
The Edwardian look was enhanced with white brick-style tiles in the wet room and near the basin. On the floor are blue and white tiles with intricate geometric and floral patterns.
