Case Study: Bathing In The Bedroom

There was not enough space to include a bath in the new ensuite bathroom at this six bedroomed home in Rotherham, so together with the owners we came up with an unusual idea: Creating a combined bathroom/bedroom.
“Our main bedroom was a little old fashioned,” says Grand Interior Design’s customer, “so we wanted to update it. I did some research on the right people to undertake the project, and had very positive feedback about Grand Interior Designs.”
Bedroom bathtime.
An archway, which led into a dressing room, was removed and the floor needed to be raised slightly to accommodate pipework when a bath was fitted. Great care was taken to fulfil the client’s wishes. A wall-mounted television was installed by the bath, and an area to place wine/champagne glasses. The bath has a ‘waterfall’ tap, and close by is a Hollywood-style mirror above a dressing table with large drawers.
En-suite shower room
The en-suite bathroom’s door was re-sited to help accommodate a large walk-in showering area. Inside the en-suite an off-the-floor ‘twist and turn’ storage unit has been installed, and a
large double basin with a mirror above – which makes the room brighter, and seem more spacious.
The Bedroom
The bed is opposite where it used to be, and now has matching bedside tables. High-gloss, push-to-open ‘floating’ wardrobes have been fitted, which are illuminated top and bottom with concealed strip lights. The same type of lighting has been fixed into the plinths of the raised floor in the bathing area. Each wardrobe has compartments to give easy access to clothes and shoes. All the lighting has been zoned, including the chandeliers.
