Case Study: Victorian Bathroom

Grand Interior Designs stripped the room back to its brickwork, then removed an old boiler and its cupboard to create space.

A new boiler was fitted in the attic after a loft hatch was created on the landing. That elegant Brindley‘soaking tub’ was chosen for its antique look, and the purpose-made Burlingtonvanity unit also seems suitably Victorian, with an inset basin fitted into a curved black granite worktop.

Tiles were fitted that are reminiscent of the 19th century. The quadrant shower enclosure is a stylish modern addition, yet blends in perfectly with a traditional fixed head and handset.

Burlingtontaps and accessories were used to be sympathetic to the period home’s heritage including a Trafalgar radiator. Bespoke wood panelling was designed and made to the customer’s instructions in the bathroom, the landing and stairs. To complete the period refurbishment traditional anthracite radiators and Victorian light fittings were fitted around the house by Grand Interior Designs.
